Approved Service - Service Description

The subject service of this Grant of Approval is the Barnardo’s Identity Provider Service from Barnardo’s Information Services.

The Barnardo’s Identity Provider (IdP) is a system designed to enable the organisation to assert the identity of a Barnardo’s member of staff. Relying parties will include, but are not exclusively limited to, UK government services. Users of the service will include and will be limited to Barnardo’s staff, in accordance with appropriate regulations1 and controls surrounding access to relying party systems.

The Barnardo’s Identity Provider will allow for a real world identity2 to be linked to an issued credential. The authenticity of the real world identity will be established and the lifecycle of the credential managed, complete with audit information.

The Service Policy and the Service Policy Disclosure Statement are published in Livelink3 for the reference of Barnardo’s staff and are available to relying parties on request.
